News from China

Betsy Damon, Keepers of the Waters and the City of Chengdu have started Urban River Restoration, an NGO. To begin, they are working on two projects, one a model of river restoration. The Beijing chapter of Keepers of the Waters, which will open an office in July, has teamed up with Roots and Shoots, a program of the Jane Goodall Insititute. They will work with children integrating ecological water design into their schools. Betsy also reports that she is adding sculpture and green design to various parts of rivers.
